I remember very well this moment. I think I was eleven or twelve. And I still can clearly see the way we were sitting around the table, with in the middle of this, a honey pot. The honey pot my grandmother had found in a shady corner in her attic. The pot had been closed for fifty years at least. At this time, I had no idea of what fifty years could mean, but I might have thought about Egyptians and Pyramids.
Before my grandmother opened it, we passed the pot to each other, hand to hand. We could see inside a subtle blending of translucent and crackled colours; brown tones of amber and gold arranged like geological stratums forming crystals from caves of Lascaux.
Each of us tasted with a spoon. And what an unbelievable feeling! I can not really remember the other's reaction sitting around the table, but for me it was very clear: I was eating Time.
